The Analyst - VMDM & Vendor Database Management is responsible for overseeing vendor setup and maintenance across Ahold Delhaize USA (ADUSA), ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance within the PMDM (Product Master Data Management) and VMDM (Vendor Master Data Management) systems. This role collaborates closely with internal teams, suppliers, and key stakeholders to manage vendor data, support strong supplier relationships, and resolve issues effectively. The analyst plays a critical role in enforcing control protocols, optimizing data management processes, and contributing to the development of strategies that enhance vendor database integrity and operational efficiency.
**Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC , Quincy, MA, Carlisle, PA, Scarborough, ME
Essential job functions:

  • Act as a primary point of contact for vendors and internal ADUSA business teams regarding all vendor set-up and vendor maintenance activities.
  • Facilitate communication between internal teams and vendors to ensure smooth collaboration.
  • Regularly train ADUSA functional business areas and vendors on effective vendor set-up, maintenance, and database management processes and controls and provide ongoing performance feedback to all stakeholders.
  • Assist in maintaining a comprehensive and reliable database of vendor information and support/test all necessary integrations with existing ADUSA systems housing vendor data.
  • Monitor vendor compliance with established vendor set-up polices.
  • Assist in conducting vendor audits and risk assessments to identify potential areas for improvement.
  • Gather and analyze vendor master data, prepare reports for management and relevant teams.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of vendor set-up, maintenance, and master data control initiatives.
  • Analyze data insights to identify areas of improvement and recommend appropriate action plans.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of vendor set-up, maintenance, & master data processes and workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and overall performance of vendor set-up, maintenance, and database controls.
  • Work closely with various internal departments such as Category, Supply Chain, Legal, and Finance to align vendor data management strategies with broader organizational goals.
  • Participate in vendor-related meetings, providing valuable insights and updates.
  • Additional job duties may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the business and support our values.


Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis until the end of their appointment
  • Strong understanding and application of industry principles, standards, and best practices in vendor management.
  • Ability to develop solutions for complex problems while adhering to established policies and precedents.
  • Ability to set objectives for own role with awareness of its impact on related functions and projects.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision, planning and managing tasks to meet objectives effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in vendor management, internal controls, or a similar role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Accounting knowledge (Accounts Payable/Receivable, etc.)
  • Internal controls/process improvement background
  • Experience in grocery retail/category management
  • Familiarity with both DA and AUSA existing systems and processes
