What will I be doing?
- As a tech lead, part of your role is to be a people manager - It's vital you dedicate time to managing your team members
- You'll be expected to drive technical direction in projects and assure they meet scalability and robustness requirements
- You'll be hands-on on projects, getting deep into code and project architecture
- You'll be responsible for week-to-week planning of your team and keeping each member accountable
- Conceptualizing and generating infrastructure that allows big data to be accessed and analyzed
- Reformulating existing frameworks to optimize their functioning
- Testing such structures to ensure that they are fit for use
- Preparing raw data for manipulation by Data Scientists
- Ensuring that your work remains backed up and readily accessible to relevant coworkers
- Remaining up-to-date with industry standards and technological advancements that will improve the quality of your outputs
What skills do I need?
- Experience leading remote development teams
- Bachelor's degree in Data Engineering, Big Data Analytics, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Software Developer, or similar
- Expert proficiency in Python, C++, Java, R, and SQL
- Familiarity with Hadoop or suitable equivalent
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Capacity to successfully manage a pipeline of duties with minimal supervision
- Proficient with monitoring tools like NewRelic, Datadog, Grafana/Prometheus, and distributed logs (e.g., ELK)
