The Data and Analytics Platform Department supports business segments with the way they access and use informational data. As a data engineering advisor, you’ll develop solutions that will be used to collect, integrate, consolidate, clean, store and mine data in a transparent fashion. You’ll also develop, maintain, support and run IT applications and data pipelines, while ensuring the functional analysis, IT design, coding, fine-tuning and documentation of programs. In addition, you’ll help diagnose problems, build and develop data mining systems, and roll out systems for business activities. In this role, projects and initiatives will require comprehensive knowledge of your line of work. More specifically, the successful candidate will be required to:

Support and maintain medium-scale data collection systems and platforms.

Develop and analyze data pipelines, and integrate, transform and consolidate data from different systems in structures that are adapted to the context.

Use various script languages and tools for storing and producing sets of data.

Develop algorithms, prototypes and proofs of concept within moderately complex projects.

Identify opportunities to improve systems and help develop data management services.

Update documentation on technical solutions. Help prepare and deliver training for peers and users.

What you bring to the table

Bachelor's degree in a related field

A minimum of two years of relevant experience

Experience in functional analysis

Knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec

Knowledge of MS Azure tools (such as MS HD Insight

Familiarity with Hive databases

Knowledge of data visualization tools (such as Sisense and Power BI)

Knowledge of SAS, ODI and SQL database languages
-
Knowledge of data virtualization tools (such as Denodo)
