The Military Family Life Counseling Program (MFLC) is seeking an experienced Data Engineer who will design, develop, and maintain our data solutions in support of our business intelligence and analytics operations that turn data into knowledge. This position will work with various systems from which to derive structured or semi-structured data, including SharePoint and relational data sources. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building and optimizing data quality, data pipelines, ETL processes, and data governance.

Primary Responsibilities

Design and implement data warehouse structures

Develop and maintain ETL processes

Optimize database performance and scalability

Collaborate with data analysts and developers to meet reporting needs

Ensure data quality, consistency, and security
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience in data science, data analytics, systems engineering, or a related field

Extensive experience building and managing relational data warehouses

Strong SQL skills and database optimization techniques
-
Experience with ETL tools, concepts, and processes

Experience with languages such as Python, Java, Scala, or Kotlin

Knowledge of dimensional modeling concepts

DBT experience (highly preferred)
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Superset and Power BI

Understanding of Message Queues

Experience with Flink or similar

Understanding of system design concepts
