Data Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Technology team in Krakow, and we’re currently looking for a Data Engineer to be a part of the team.
The Data engineer will deliver and maintain data products that delight our customers and stakeholders. Support product teams to ensure trusted and high impact data products; “build it, ship it and run it”.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Develop and maintain data platforms, ensuring product features are delivered effectively by tracking key metrics like lead time, deployment frequency, and change failure percentage.
- Work closely with product engineering stakeholders and support a shared ownership model, ensuring data engineering practices and tools are rolled out across the teams.
- Build and optimize data pipelines to ingest, cleanse, and normalize diverse datasets from internal and external sources. Identify and implement opportunities for pipeline automation and improvements.
- Work with Site Reliability Engineering and Security teams to ensure data pipelines are reliable, secure, and maintainable by product teams.
- Advocate for a data-driven culture by supporting product managers in data-informed decision-making and ensuring that data products meet operational readiness standards.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation to ensure continuity across teams and contribute to skill sharing within the data engineering team and the broader engineering organization.
What you will bring to the role:
- Degree in Computer Science or 3+ years of equivalent practical experience;
- Proficiency in writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code in Python;
- Experience working with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Databricks, or Snowflake;
- Proficient in relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres and DynamoDB;
- Strong knowledge of software engineering concepts and best practices including testing and performance tuning;
- Exposure to Data Warehousing Modelling (Dimensional, Data Vault 2.0);
- Experience in implementing ETL (or ELT) best practices at scale;
- Hands-on experience managing large-scale object storage for both structured and unstructured data;
- Experience with AWS cloud data services: EMR, RDS, Redshift, Kinesis, Glue etc.
- Experience with both streaming and batch data processing (e.g., Spark, Flink, Kinesis, Kafka) is a plus.
