Global Pharma Technical Development (PTD) is a 2,000-strong global team driving Roche's mission to develop meaningful medicines. PTD bridges early to commercial product needs through innovative technical solutions. The PTD Data and Digital (PTDD) team pioneers digital transformation in Pharma Technical Development with seamless data flow, analytics, and upskilling. Focused on advancing data and digital capabilities, PTDD supports small and large molecule development, device development, analytical sciences, and the clinical supply chain. We integrate data and information across the product lifecycle with analytics and intelligent automation, collaborating closely with key partners like Ix, pRED/gRED, PTC, and PTE.

Who you are
You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, Information Technology, or related field and 2-5 years of Data Engineering experience, ideally in R&D or Technical Operations. Further, you bring:

Technical Skills: Expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and proficiency in Python, Java, SQL, or Scala. Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and data warehousing (Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake), CI/CD, automated testing

Soft Skills & Environment: Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration abilities. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a commitment to data quality. Fluency in English; German is a plus. Ensure that all data engineering activities comply with relevant data quality, data protection and privacy regulations.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with containerization tools (L7, Docker, Kubernetes), familiarity with the Snowflake platform, data visualization tools (Tableau, Spotfire, Dataiku, Thoughtspot, Plotly), and knowledge of machine learning and high-availability architecture design.
