We are seeking a highly motivated Data Engineer with a strong background in the oil and gas sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. You should be comfortable working independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines and workflows.
- Integrate and manage data from various sources, including third-party applications through RESTful APIs.
- Transform and model data for analytics and reporting using modern tools and frameworks.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions.
- Implement best practices for data engineering, including data quality, monitoring, and documentation.
- Support and optimize data warehousing and data lake architectures.
- 4+ years of relevant experience in data engineering.
- Prior experience in the oil and gas industry is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience with RESTful API integrations.
- Familiarity with the modern data stack and its components.
- Orchestration tools: Preferably Airflow; alternatively Dagster or Prefect.
- Data Warehousing/Lake: Preferably Snowflake; alternatively Databricks, Redshift, or BigQuery.
- Data transformation/modeling: Preferably dbt; alternatively Coalesce.
- Experience with data virtualization or query federation tools: Preferably Denodo; alternatively Trino or Starburst.
- Familiarity with data streaming frameworks such as Kafka or Azure Event Hub
- Full-time availability.
- Fluent in English.
Nice to have
- Experience with the Microsoft SQL Server BI stack, including SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS
