Internal Audit
Internal Audit’s primary mission is to provide assurance to the Board of Directors and Executive Management that BlackRock’s businesses are well managed and meeting strategic, operational and risk management objectives. The team engages with senior leaders and all of BlackRock’s individual business units globally to understand and advise on the risks in their business, evaluate the effectiveness of key processes and assist in the design of best practices that can improve their results. Internal Audit reports directly to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, and our work builds confidence that BlackRock will meet its obligations to clients, shareholders, employees and other stakeholders.
Data Analytics
The Data Analytics (DA) team leverages various data science, business intelligence, and analytical methods to assess BlackRock’s control environment. DA team members may design and perform certain testing as part of audits of BlackRock business units and technology controls across application systems and infrastructure components. The DA team is also responsible for building and maintaining an inventory of self-service tools for the auditors, supporting the risk assessment of auditable units for the annual planning process, and assisting the development of timely and accurate Internal Audit management information.
India

Data Engineer Roles & Responsibilities
This role supports the global Internal Audit team. Responsibilities are divided into two key areas:
Primary Responsibilities (80%): Data/Application Engineer

BlackRock is seeking a Data/Application Engineer for our Internal Audit Data Analytics team to provide data analytics services and solutions to enable our audit programs to scale with BlackRock’s growth and complexity. This is an opportunity to provide custom-built solutions and automate services that will increase the productivity of BlackRock’s audit function using data.

The Data/Application Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing engineering solutions to enhance Internal Audit's capabilities. The role involves collaboration with the DA team, audit teams, internal risk partners, and Aladdin engineering teams to scale audit programs through data-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and implement analytics tools and technology solutions for Internal Audit.

Build and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and reporting dashboards.

Optimize database structures and data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, MS-SQL) for effective data storage and analysis.

Develop and manage business intelligence solutions using Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps.

Ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility while implementing governance best practices.

Drive automation and process optimization for audit-related data initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities (20%): Audit Data Analytics Support

Our DA team is looking for an analytical self-starter, eager to learn new technologies and will be working towards supporting Internal Audit teams by providing data-driven insights, improving audit efficiency, and implementing automated audit testing solutions.

Successful DA team members embrace a fast-paced environment and add value to the performance of audits by working alongside audit teams and by helping to evolve our audit processes, tools and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement automated audit tests to enhance audit coverage.

Develop and document audit testing code for efficiency and transparency.

Collaborate with stakeholders to identify risks and propose analytics-driven solutions.

Support ad-hoc data analysis for regulatory inquiries, issue verification, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Technical Skills:
-
Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science or Analytics-related field.
-
3 to 5 years of experience in a developer or engineering role, with exposure to developing and implementing solutions.

Proficiency in Python, object-oriented concepts, and strong SQL/database knowledge.
-
Experience with Agile methodologies, Azure DevOps, JIRA, and working knowledge of Power BI/Power Automate/Power Apps.
-
Experience with both structured and unstructured data, as well as Data Warehousing and ETL processes. With hands-on experience with text analytics, web scraping, Selenium, N-Gram analysis, and Sentiment Analysis is preferred.
