Location: Leeds, Bristol or Edinburgh
Salary: £65,385 - £72,650
Hours: Full time
Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our above offices.
About this opportunity:
IP&I has around 200 colleagues who have a job in data, and around 6000 thousand others that have data in their job. Our goal is to ensure that every decision our colleagues make, big or small, is driven by confidence in data.
But too often, data feels complex, unclear, or disconnected from daily work. That’s why this role exists, and why it matters so much.
As our Data Literacy Lead, you'll be the driving force behind a cultural shift that transforms how people think about, engage with, and apply data in their everyday work.
If you’re looking for a role where you can influence at scale, design innovative learning experiences, and build a legacy that changes how an entire business unit uses data, this is it.
What you’ll be doing:
- Craft a groundbreaking data literacy plan to develop a structured, scalable program for colleagues of varying skill levels and roles.
- Redefine learning experiences - ditching the boring, one-size-fits-all training.
- Build multifaceted, interactive, and practical learning formats - whether its immersive workshops, on-demand learning modules, or innovative mentor programs.
- Embed data into everyday decision-making – helping to ensure data proficiency is not just a skill but an approach that drives real business outcomes.
- Encourage a data-confident community - change the way colleagues see, understand, and trust data
- Measure what matters - define success, track adoption, and iterate to ensure our approach continually delivers impact
Why Lloyds Banking Group:
Like the modern Britain we serve, we’re evolving. Investing billions in our people, data and tech to transform the way we meet the ever-changing needs of our 26 million customers. We’re growing with purpose. Join us on our journey and you will too!
What you’ll need:
In addition to your understanding and curiosity about data, tech and tooling, developing people and culture should be a priority.
- Data, analytics and business intelligence know-how – including key concepts such as data visualisation, data storytelling, and AI.
- Line Management – previous experience directing a team.
- Critical thinking – able to craft and implement a data-literacy plan that aligns with business priorities.
- Previous experience of mentoring others - helping people build confidence in using data, tech, and tooling through hands-on events, such as hackathons.
- Proven experience of BI tools and self-serve analytics platforms, with an ability to help non-technical colleagues navigate and demonstrate them optimally.
- Communicating and storytelling – translating sophisticated concepts into clear, engaging and practical learning experiences.
