About the team
The Expansion team is at the centre of bringing the Careem Everything App to new cities across the region. With more than 20 products operating on our platform, Careem has a proven ability to build products that simplify and improve the lives of our customers. The expansion team is responsible for scaling these products to new cities in an efficient way. It will be part of the team’s mandate to lay down a clear path for our expansion across our footprint and work with GMs and cross-functional colleagues to deliver on it.
What you'll do
- Business Intelligence & Reporting
- Design, develop, and maintain automated dashboards and reporting solutions for real-time and accurate data insights.
- Optimize and automate dashboards and reports to fulfill day-to-day data and analytics requests.
- Metrics & Experimentation
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate and drive growth and operational excellence.
- Conduct A/B testing and evaluate business interventions to measure their success.
- Data Analysis & Insights
- Act as the first point of contact for all business data queries.
- Translate complex data and findings into understandable tables, graphs, and written reports.
- Perform structured analyses to answer key business questions and derive actionable insights.
- Present analyses and commentary to both technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership teams across Grocery, Food, DineOut, and other verticals.
- Stakeholder Communication
- Communicate complex findings clearly, both written and verbally, to various audiences.
- Deliver concise, actionable presentations or reports to guide decision-making.
What You'll need
- A passionate commitment to improving the lives of people and focusing on excellence and customer-centricity.
- Enthusiasm for understanding business contexts and driving data-driven decisions.
- 4-6 years of experience in analytics roles within high-growth tech startups or data-driven environments.
- Strong analytical skills and passion for working with large datasets.
- Expertise in writing SQL queries for large data sets.
- Proficiency in reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Hands-on experience with Python for data analysis and automation.
- Experience with ETL/ELT processes, building pipelines, and transforming structured or unstructured data.
- Ability to translate business needs into analytics requests and deliver actionable insights.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to convey complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with dimensional data and data lakes is an advantage.
