As a Vice President of Data Analytics in Global Corporate Banking Controls, you will have the opportunity to create robust solutions for Front Office operations. You will be responsible for designing and developing analytics and reporting frameworks for the Front Office, while collaborating with key stakeholders to promote innovation in these areas. This role provides you with the chance to make a significant impact on our operations and contribute to our ongoing success.
Job Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement analytics and reporting frameworks tailored to Front Office needs, focusing on risk and controls.
- Develop advanced, scalable systems for reporting, ensuring data quality and compliance.
- Partner with Front Office stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver actionable insights.
- Collaborate closely with Risk and Controls technology teams to deliver integrated solutions that align with business goals.
- Drive data governance, integration, and data lineage initiatives to support reporting and analytics, ensuring consistency, quality, and completeness of data assets.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Work in development teams using agile techniques and scripting languages, while learning cutting-edge technologies for greenfield projects.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Demonstrate Proven Engineering Experience: Accumulate over 10 years of professional experience in the banking or financial services industry, with a focus on Front Office operations and Risk and Controls. Develop a strong understanding of Front Office workflows and the associated risks, while transforming business requirements into actionable engineering solutions. Exhibit strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills to effectively work in fast-paced, cross-functional teams and with senior leadership.
- Attain Advanced Technical Proficiency: Achieve advanced proficiency in Python programming and software development, along with SQL and data visualization tools. Gain hands-on experience in building and managing data analytics tools, dashboards, and reporting frameworks. Acquire knowledge of cloud platforms and modern data engineering tools, such as AWS and Data bricks.
- Exhibit Strong Analytical and Data Skills: Demonstrate strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of data with attention to detail and accuracy. Design and develop data-driven narratives for diverse business audiences, attaining expert-level proficiency in data presentation techniques to enhance user experience. Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in data storytelling.
- Pursue Continuous Learning and Certification. Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in engineering, data analytics, and risk management to continuously enhance skills and knowledge.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline with a preferred focus on finance and data analytics.
- Advanced degree (e.g., Master's, MBA) is preferred.
- Obtain industry certifications in engineering, data analytics, or related domains if preferred.
