Equifax is seeking a driven data analyst to contribute to the creation of high-quality datasets that power our analytical capabilities. If you are a data enthusiast with a knack for databases and a talent for extracting meaningful insights from complex data, we encourage you to apply.

You will partner with internal stakeholders to design and deliver analytical solutions and visual reports that drive strategic business decisions. Strong communication skills are required, and financial industry experience is preferred. This position provides an opportunity to work with best-in-class technology and a rich big data ecosystem.

This position is based out of our Atlanta or Alpharetta, Georgia office. We're required to be in the office 3 days/week on Tues/Wed/Thurs.

This position does not offer immigration sponsorship (current or future) including F-1 STEM OPT extension support.

Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare data for analytical use by building data pipelines to gather data from multiple sources and systems.

  • Integrate, consolidate, cleanse and structure data for use by our clients in our solutions.

  • Create SQL and Python code that is optimized, efficient, repeatable and scalable

  • Analyze, understand and prepare complex and new data sources and incorporate them into project design. 

  • Perform design, creation, and interpretation of large and highly complex datasets.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in GCP and related technologies, actively proposing and evaluating new solutions.

  • Understand best practices for data management, maintenance, and reporting and use that knowledge to implement improvements in our solutions.

  • Develop and implement data quality checks and troubleshoot data anomalies.

  • Use analytical insights to develop solutions, improve processes and work with counterparts in the business to implement proposed solutions

  • Package, summarize, visualize and perform storytelling on analytical findings and results to technical and non-technical people alike

  • Ability to advocate for the implementation of solutions and improved processes as well as share the qualitative and quantitative elements to drive value and share the “so what” out of the analysis being performed. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • BS degree in a STEM major or equivalent discipline

  • 5-7 years of experience in a related role as data analyst or data engineer

  • Extensive experience in SQL is a must, as well as strong working knowledge of Python

  • Experience designing and implementing moderately complex data models and experience enabling optimization to improve performance

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in a related field is a strong plus

  • Background in credit risk, financial data analytics or risk modeling.

  • Experience working with large datasets on a big data platform (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS, Snowflake, Hadoop)

  • Experience in Business Intelligence, data visualization, and customer insights generation. 

  • Intermediate level understanding and experience with Google Cloud Platforms and overall cloud computing concepts, as well as basic knowledge of other cloud environments

  • Experience building and maintaining moderately-complex data pipelines, troubleshooting issues, transforming and entering data into a data pipeline in order for the content to be digested and usable for future projects 

  • Demonstrates advanced Git usage and CI/CD integration skills
