Amentum is seeking a candidate to provide on-site and in-the-field support to DARPA’s Adaptive Capabilities Office (ACO) portfolio as a senior engineer specializing in field operations, sensor systems, software development, and adaptive communications capabilities. Successful candidates will lead activities in the design, deployment, maintenance, operation, extension, customization, and troubleshooting of geographically distributed sensor systems to ensure continuous operation. The candidate will also lead activities associated with deploying, configuring, and maintaining adaptive communications systems proximal to sensor platforms.
The role will require occasional international travel for up to 30 days in duration per trip.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and integrate mixed hardware/software sensor and communications systems.
- Generate prototype solutions from abstract technology requirements.
- Develop solutions for Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) technology platforms.
- Design for adherence to DoD regulations governing the security of the solutions.
- Implement and manage DevSecOps technologies and methodologies for the solutions.
- Apply cloud computing principles to optimize system architecture and scalability.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Must have an Active US Government Top Secret Clearance and ability to obtain SCI and Special Access Program access. Please note US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top Secret Clearance and ability to obtain SCI and Special Access Program Access.

- Prior experience working within the DoD or IC in a similar technical role.
- Proven ability to adhere to DoD cybersecurity practices.
- Full-stack software development experience, including fluency in Python.
- Software development experience using “modern software development practices and methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the standards and practices of computer networking, especially as commonly employed in the DoD, including network accreditation.
- Experience supporting international field operations testing and experiments.
- Experience managing effective workflows with collaboration tools, such as Gitlab, the Atlassian suite (Bitbucket, Confluence, Jira), and Kubernetes.
