Position Title: Dam Safety Specialist (International Expert)
Key Qualifications/ Requirements: He/ She should have a degree in civil engineering and have at least experience of 15 years’ experience in dealing with construction supervision and quality assurance, safety evaluation, preparation of guidelines/manuals, design experience, past member of any safety inspections and remedial measures etc. He/ She should have worked in at least 5 large dam projects.
Job Descriptions:
- Serve as the Nodal Expert for reviewing all dam safety aspects across project activities.
- Conduct CS&QA visits and prepare official transmittals for onward submission.
- Perform dam safety inspections and provide expert opinions to address safety concerns.
- Review overall rehabilitation plans of DRIP dams.
- Assess construction quality, quality control systems, and quality assurance.
- Design customized training modules/lectures to train IAs.
- Contribute to the updating or development of dam safety guidelines/manuals.
- Participate as a domain expert in the DHARMA updating team.
- Provide necessary input for the development of MIS and the official project website.
- Conduct Training of Trainers (TOT) programs for officials.
- Assist in developing the annual training program calendar and act as faculty.
- Expedite and ensure compliance with urgent dam safety matters as assigned by the Project Director.
- Participate in relevant dam safety activities as required.
