General Summary
The IT Project Manager I works with the Information Technology team, corporate departments, and segments to support IT related projects and programs. The IT Project Manager I works under general direction of IT senior management and is responsible for planning, execution and finalization of projects according to deadlines and within budget.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Develop project plans and associated communications documents under supervision.
- Communicate project expectations, milestones and status to team members and stakeholders.
- Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
- Track project milestones and deliverables.
- Develop and deliver progress reports, requirements documentation, and presentations.
- Assist in managing changes in project scope and devise contingency plans.
- Collaborate with functional and technical project members
- Support with PMO team to develop and maintain project management policies, procedures and best practices
- Performs other duties as required
Job Specifications
Knowledge
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems or related field.
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification required
- Preferred 1-2 years of project management experience in IT.
- Preferred experience in project management software tools.
- Basic understanding of project management methodologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills and abilities
- Proficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing and speaking
- Basic proficiency in project management software tools.
- Ability to successfully interact and communicate with all organizational levels
- Ability to communicate clearly via video conference, phone and email with customers, vendors and co-workers
- Ability to identify and pursue opportunities for improvement to existing processes and utilize lessons learned post project completion.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
