Your Mission

Join a dynamic team supporting Cyber Security Defensive Operations by configuring and maintaining a high-fidelity Cyber Range environment. You will leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, utilizing Terraform, Ansible, VMware, and automation technologies to manage hundreds to thousands of VMs. Collaborate to design, implement, and optimize cyber range environments for training, exercises, and mission simulations.

As part of a larger development team within the Cyber Security Directorate, you will directly contribute to Defensive Network Operations when not working on the Cyber Range.

You Will Excel in This Role If You Are:

• A software engineer with hands-on experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible
• Skilled in scripting languages like Bash, PowerShell, Batch, and Python for automation and system configuration
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving customer requirements
• Experienced in networking, virtualization, and cybersecurity tool integration
• Capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and cybersecurity professionals

A Day in the Life Of:

• Automating the deployment and configuration of Cyber Range environments
• Working with Hunt, Red, and Blue Teams to tailor cyber range infrastructure for mission-critical exercises
• Managing virtualized infrastructure across multiple nodes and sites using Terraform and Ansible
• Developing and refining cybersecurity tools and operational configurations
• Troubleshooting and optimizing system performance in a rapidly evolving environment

Must Haves:

• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
• Bachelor's degree + 8 years of experience (or equivalent: Master’s + 6, Associate’s + 10, High School/GED + 12)
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, Batch, Python)
• Hands-on experience with networking, virtualization, and cybersecurity tools
• Strong understanding of Windows/Linux operating systems, application behaviors, and network traffic analysis

Nice to Have:

• Experience in an Agile development and DevOps environment
• Familiarity with container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker
• Knowledge of penetration testing, red team operations, or defensive cyber security
• Experience utilizing and developing with Splunk
• Experience with Nutanix
