What you will be doing:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Quality Engineer to join our team in Derby.
As a Customer Quality Engineer, you will be working directly with the Airframe Customer to ensure that we deliver to their Quality requirements, and inwardly be the voice of the customer across all areas of Rolls-Royce. This role provides great exposure across the business, with many opportunities to learn and develop breadth due to the variety of activities, and to be at the forefront seeing our products going into service on aircraft.
Responsibilities:
- Act as Customer Quality interface with Airbus & Boeing for Operational activities.
- Engage with the supply chain (internal & external) to respond to Customer Complaints, and provide the relevant coaching of problem resolution, ensuring issues are contained and investigated in a timely manner to meet committed timescales.
- Present & participate at Customer led Quality Reviews, for example - sharing Quality Issue containment strategy, updating on NoEs (Notifications of Escapes) impacting the Airframer Production Lines and managing customer expectations based on Rolls Royce load and capacity.
- Support the Rolls Royce Toulouse out-located Customer teams with technical queries and enabling interfaces into other areas of the business.
- Actively participate in improvement projects aligned to the Customer Quality Improvement Programmes (e.g Airbus SQIP).

- Professionally qualified with experience in a relevant Quality or Technical field.
- Strong communication & presentation skills, ideally with experience of working with external stakeholders/customers.
- Practical experience of problem solving (e.g 8D / SiS) and able to coach others in problem solving methodologies.
- Experience of working under pressure and having to deal with ambiguity.

The professional level and salary of the position will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate but is anticipated to be Level 7-10.
