Position PurposeUnder occasional supervision, handles and resolves matters of billing and collections for the company’s delinquent accounts. As a Sr. Customer Accounting Specialist, day to day responsibilities are similar to previous roles described with growing complexity and expectations

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads pursuit of delinquent accounts and maintains documentation of collection records.
  • Collaborates with brokers and internal departments to identify, analyze and resolve complex billing and collection issues.
  • Supervise activities of staff to ensure duties are performed timely, accurately and efficiently.
  • Generates and distributes billing invoices, statements, and delinquent notices.
  • Provides monthly reporting on aged receivables and matters of collections to management.
  • Prepares bookkeeping entries to settle account balances.
  • Assists with special projects and other duties when needed.

Education & Experience

  • Typically requires an associate's degree in accounting or related field
  • 3+ years of related experience - Insurance experience required
  • [OR] equivalent level of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies

  • Ability to research moderately complex to complex billing and collection issues and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external contacts involved in the billing and collection processes.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software as well as general ledger and billing and collections applications to identify, analyze, and resolve billing and collection issues.

Compensation OverviewThe base salary range for the position is listed below. Please note that the base salary is only one component of our robust total rewards package at RLI. The salary offered will take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications/credentials, talent availability & specialization, as well as business needs. The below range may be modified in the future. Base Pay Range$22.33 - $30.70
