We are seeking a talented, motivated analytical Researcher to join our Corporate Governance Custom Research Team in Brussels. If you want to learn, climb, and shine at a company that’s committed to you, then ISS just might be the best move you’ll ever make. 

Bring your experience and expand your knowledge 

As part of the ISS Custom Research team, you will be in a constant state of learning and educating. Partnering with other experts on the team and within the organization, you will work with clients to fully optimize their corporate governance program. This includes providing clients new trends and emerging proposals that have garnered increased interest in the investment community and assist clients in developing and implementing policies on these new issues. 

Using the latest technology, in conjunction with analyst expertise on corporate governance, you and the team provide clients with customized vote recommendations based on their respective proxy voting guidelines. 

In addition, the team provides tailored reports, including an annual custom policy matrix that captures voting instructions and procedures on proxy issues that are expected to be seen on ballots in the upcoming year, and policy gap analyses to identify areas in client policy that do not effectively address any particular corporate governance issue.

What you come to the table with 

• An analytical, collaborative personality with a passion for research, problem solving and asking ‘what if’ 

• Previous experience in the proxy voting industry working with institutional investors is a plus   

• A desire to be part of an intellectually rich and deadline-driven work environment 

• The space to work independently as well as collaboratively with others 

• Brilliant research and analytical skills 

• Exceptional attention to detail 

• Excellent English writing and oral communication skills, and the ability to formulate and support a position on an issue

• French language fluency is a plus

• Master’s degree in Law and/or Finance, Economics or equivalent through experience 

• 1+ years of experience in corporate governance/capital markets, would be another asset 

• Willingness to work long hours and weekends primarily during peak weeks (March, April, May, June), but on an as-needed basis throughout the year as well
