The AVS Digital CTO will create and maintain a world-class engineering and technical organization, including collaborating across functions and horizontal segments, to deliver multi-generational Digital product portfolios for reporting, collaboration, and fleet management solutions to meet customer needs and grow market technology leadership. Additionally the CTO will define and drive the digital platform strategy across the AVS franchise in concert with peers.  This leader will be an executive member of the AVS digital leadership team.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Establish a technology vision and strategy to maintain global competitiveness across our AVS digital portfolios. Oversight of the execution of the product and technology roadmap, project schedule and resource planning across all projects. Ensure engineering designs meet business objectives, including speed to market, design for reliability and manufacturability, and cost.
  • Build and further develop a world class technology innovation culture across the AVS Digital sites in Bangalore, Germany, Hungary, and the US.  This includes organizational design and development, budget, vision, strategy, and its functional activities – recruitment & retention of diverse talent, technical and team development, and ongoing coaching & mentoring of engineering leaders and engineers.     
  • In conjunction with the product management team, drive platform and technology synergies across the AVS Digital product portfolios and AVS segments, to improve efficiencies and simplify our product portfolios.
  • Set and implement digital strategy by working with cross-functional partners to map and transition traditional processes to digital innovations.
  • Build and maintains a high performing innovation culture that ensures outstanding compliance and product quality in alignment with the GE HealthCare QMS and regulations related to the business’ technology and products.  
  • Implements and ensures agile and lean product development concepts into the organization to increase design & development efficiency and embraces modern methods of development for speed and quality.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/Science within an appropriate discipline
  • 15 years progressive experience as an engineer or scientist within the appropriate field of study
  • 10 years experience in product leadership within a manufacturing, development, or research environment
  • Must have hardware and software product experience within the medical device industry
  • 5 years experience in engineering and/or product leadership of cloud based solutions
  • Demonstrated project leadership and people management skills.
  • Team oriented with ability to motivate and work well with diverse, cross-functional and global teams.
  • Innovation - Lead teams to develop new ideas through collaboration and execute on creative ideas.
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment; takes ownership of issues and drive solutions.

  • Advanced degree in Engineering or Science
  • Demonstrated ability to keep stay informed on key digital market trends such as cybersecurity, AI, and scalable services
  • Innovative and disruptive mindset with proven record of leading successful digital product transformation
  • Business Planning: Strategic planner and clear thinker with ability to both drive change across sites and influence other organizations. Demonstrated competency in providing leadership and direction in regard to cross-functional aspects of R&D/technology development.
  • Product, Clinical, Technology & Scientific Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of patients, customers, and segment related clinical applications and workflow as well as scientific/engineering methods/theory with an affinity for technology and clinical solutions.
  • Product Life Cycle: Demonstrated experience on global product releases throughout the entire new product development cycle, managing Field Maintenance Instructions (FMIs) and Installed Base releases.
  • Proven track record to lead and drive global teams to deliver on business and program goals Previous experience in regulated medical device company.
  • Six sigma/5S/Lean trained
