The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist is responsible for operating specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross-sectional images of the human anatomy which aid radiologists, physicians and other healthcare professionals in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders. This position assists in training students and technologists and performs injection procedures. The Technologist maintains optimum timeliness, accuracy, proficiency, efficiency, and safety during the execution of duties, and works closely with patients to ensure they have an understanding of procedures and are comfortable during procedures.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Clean, maintain, and restock examination and inventory rooms.

Collaborate on patient medical issues with the physician to determine protocol and procedure.

Complete all CT exams and procedures; obtain the most optimal images for physician interpretation while processing and evaluating images according to policy and protocol.

Confirm patient identity. Obtain and record patient identification, medical history, or test results. Review and update patient documentation in EMR and PACS.

Perform venous punctures using universal precautions while administering contrast media.

Practice established safety guidelines and utilizes ALARA radiation reduction tools and techniques.
Qualifications
- Preferred Associate's Degree in Radiology
- Required Certificate in Radiology
- 2 years Radiology Preferred
- Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
- Radiography (ARRT-R) - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Indiana
- Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT) - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 1 year
