Job Description SummaryRenders appropriate administration of anesthetics within all age ranges, infants, children, adolescent, and adult through geriatrics, and at all levels of acuity.
Job DescriptionREQUIRED
- RN licensure in Alabama Current certification from the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists or the Council on Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists.
- BCLS Certification
PREFERRED
- ACLS Certification
LANGUAGE/ COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Must be able to read, write and speak English. Ability to communicate effectively in an emergency situation.
SKILLS:
- Provides anesthesia care of all patients utilizing agents and technique established and recognized by:
A. Standards of care set forth by AANA and the AMA
B. Protocols of the Medical Director of Anesthesia
C. Policies and procedures of Southeast Health
- Actively participated in the pre-op and post-operative assessment and documentation of patient states
- Successful completion of BCLS, ACLS preferred (annually)
- Maintains pediatric case requirements as outlined by department protocols
- Maintains certifications with anesthesia equipment including One Touch, Hemachron, TB fit testing
- Annual completion of unit specific competency requirements
- Maintains emergency airway skills, including trauma alert, code four, emergency airway management response
