In Denmark, you will be a colleague with 340 employees divided into three business units, of which the paint division is the largest. Our production and head office are in Søborg.

Our products are sold in wholesale stores all over the country as well as in all major DIY stores.

As a Credit Manager and Collections Team Leader you will lead the team responsible for the ledger of customers relating to all business units. You will manage a team of Collection Specialists. As part of EMEA Credit team, you may be involved into support of other region. Possible growth also through regional role of credit manager of Strategic business unit for EMEA region.

Along with the Management of Outsourced services and professional services in collection, you will also identify process issues, undertaking reviews and suggesting potential improvements to ensure ultimate debt in minimal. Reporting to EMEA Credit manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Line Manager Responsibility for the Direct Denmark or any assigned region team that will include resource planning, task allocation and performance reviews, whilst providing training and support across the team. You will ensure key tasks covered at all critical / peak times – managing holiday requests and monthly timetable to ensure cover.
  • Ownership of Denmark Credit and Collections strategy including legal process ensuring accounts are put on stop and sent to legal in timely manner to ensure minimization of customer risk / cost to business.
  • Proactively chasing by teams, ascertaining, logging and progressing queries in relation to relevant PPG departments. Strong cooperation with business leadership.
  • Forecasting both within the month and at month end, highlighting issues and identifying action plans to resolve any issues, escalating any issues to relevant managers / other department to provide focus to key overdue drivers.
  • Forecasting of Month end performance, reporting on overdues and plans for clearance/ resolution.
  • Management of Month end Process locally with collection specialists, along with allocation team as required, to ensure fast, efficient close, minimizing unallocated monies and overdue balances.
  • Leading and participating in regular ledger reviews with Credit Management team, Business Directors and Management establishing clear business partner relationships.
  • Participating and leading process improvement workshops and project meetings and initiatives as required, maintaining up to date policy and procedure notes, ensuring the team and own actions are compliant and in line with EMEA Credit policy and aligned to Approval matrix.
  • Management of Audits on behalf of Credit team – Internal and external. Management of credit risk on behalf of business, ensuring decisions made in line with approval matrix and controls
  • Responsible for Bad debt policy adherence, review of bad debt reserve, reconciliation of legal accounts and coordination of claim cases with legal agencies, court procedures or with credit insurance provider
  • Support and leadership in projects in process innovation for assigned region

Qualifications

  • Hold an ICM Qualification or an ongoing commitment to CIPD in Credit Environment
  • Have previous supervisory / line management experience in a credit or collections role, previous credit /collection experience is essential. Knowledge of local regulation of credit and collection;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Danish, with the ability to communicate with customers and European PPG teams.
  • Have excellent attention to detail, with the ability to meet tight deadlines, and change priorities at short notice.
  • Demonstrate a helpful, professional approach to Customer service / Collections.
  • Have advanced Excel skills (Pivot table, vlookup as minimum). PowerPoint, Word and Outlook skills are also essential.
  • Ability to identify and act on issues as they arise in a timely manner, prioritizing as appropriate.
