We are seeking a Creative Strategy Director to shape the strategic vision for Shark Beauty, ensuring a unified and impactful creative approach across the Haircare and Skincare categories.


Role Overview:

The Creative Strategy Director will play a pivotal role in defining and refining Shark Beauty’s position within the competitive beauty landscape. This individual will work closely with PD, Engineering, CI, Creative teams and marketing to ensure Shark Beauty products are uniquely and consistently positioned in the marketplace. The role requires a deep understanding of the beauty category, emerging trends, and consumer insights to craft strategies that inform creative development across all touchpoints and create a HROS.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Creative Strategy Development:
    • Craft a unique and cohesive strategic creative vision for Shark Beauty across Haircare and Skincare categories.
    • Define the category of one positioning of Shark Beauty products within the competitive landscape, focusing on their innovative and performance-driven attributes, partnering closely with our PD, Engineering, CI, Creative and Marketing teams
  • Market and Consumer Insights:
    • Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify trends, consumer preferences, and opportunities within the beauty industry.
    • Translate insights into actionable creative strategies that elevate brand perception and product desirability.
    • Work closely with CI to iterate and evolve positioning and messaging as product evolves.
  • Product Storytelling:
    • Develop compelling narratives that articulate Shark Beauty’s mission, product benefits, and differentiation.
    • Ensure all creative assets align with the brand’s overarching vision and resonate with target audiences.
    • Work closely with the VP, Shark Beauty Creative and the creative team to ensure creative strategy informs the development of product stories globally.
  • Collaboration and Alignment:
    • Partner with Product Development, Marketing, and Creative (Social / Media / PR) teams to ensure seamless integration of creative strategies across campaigns, product launches, and communications.
    • Act as the bridge between data-driven insights and creative execution, ensuring alignment across all touchpoints.
    • Be a key voice for stakeholders and ELT in elevating our Beauty category storytelling
  • Innovation and Trends:
    • Stay ahead of beauty trends, emerging technologies, and consumer behaviors to inform and inspire creative strategies.
    • Advocate for innovation in creative processes and approaches, ensuring Shark Beauty remains at the forefront of the beauty category.
  • Performance and Optimization:
    • Monitor and analyze the performance of creative campaigns and strategies, leveraging insights to optimize future initiatives.
    • Establish benchmarks and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of creative outputs.
    • Be able to pivot and iterate quickly

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Creative Direction, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in creative strategy, branding, or marketing within the beauty or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of Haircare and Skincare categories, consumer behavior, and market dynamics.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful creative strategies that drive brand growth.
  • Exceptional storytelling, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in interpreting market research and consumer insights to inform creative direction.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • A passion for innovation, beauty, and consumer-centric design.
