As we expand into Colombia, we seek a Country Manager to lead with purpose, drive strategic growth, and build a team that embodies our values. 

This role will work in a matrix structure, reporting directly to the COO while closely collaborating with other functions.   

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing global technology operations, with a strong understanding of AI, Cloud, and digital transformation services. 


Key responsibilities:

  • Establish & scale the offshore development center:
  • Lead the setup, scaling, and operational efficiency of the Medellín offshore center.
  • Define growth strategies to expand the center’s impact and expertise in AI-driven digital transformation. 
  • Ensure alignment with global objectives, delivering value to customers in Europe and the USA. 

  • Build & lead competency center teams:
  • Work with global capability leaders to establish and manage Competency Centers focused on AI, Cloud, Data Engineering, Quality Engineering and Software Development.
  • Work closely with capability leaders to refine talent and growth strategies. 
  • Work with talent acquisition to attract top-tier engineering talent. 
  • Drive technical excellence and continuous learning initiatives to enhance team capabilities. 

  • Legal, regulatory & compliance management:
  • Act as the legal representative for Solvd in Colombia, ensuring regulatory compliance. 
  • Work closely with external legal and tax advisors to oversee contracts, employment laws, and corporate governance. 
  • Ensure compliance with Colombian labor laws, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements. 

  • Financial oversight & cost optimization:
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and cost control for the Colombian entity. 
  • Collaborate with corporate finance teams to align with global financial strategies. 
  • Ensure the profitability and sustainability of the offshore center. 

  • HR, talent management & company culture:
  • Provide guidance on benefits and social engagement to create a better employee experience and to optimize for retention. 
  • Foster a strong company culture, ensuring high levels of employee engagement and retention. 

  • Stakeholder engagement & external representation:
  • Represent Solvd in Colombia, engaging with government agencies, industry associations, and local partners. 
  • Establish partnerships with universities, tech hubs, and AI research institutions to strengthen talent pipelines. 
  • Promote Solvd’s brand and reputation as a top employer in Colombia. 

Qualifications & experience:

  • 15+ years of experience in managing offshore technology delivery centers or similar operations. 
  • Proven expertise in AI, Cloud, Data Engineering, or Software Development. 
  • Strong understanding of Colombian legal, financial, and HR regulations.
  • Experience working with global teams and a matrix reporting structure. 
  • Fluent in English & Spanish (both written and spoken). 
  • Background in scaling technology teams and driving competency development.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills. 
  • Experience working with European & US clients is a strong advantage.
