Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a dynamic Cost Accountant to join our Finance/Accounting Department team in Sunday Riley`s Corporate Office.

Your main areas of focus will be to:

• The Cost Accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining the company's costing process. This role involves contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in financial accounting.

• Cost Analysis and Control:
  • Analyzing production costs, raw material costs, and operational expenses related to manufacturing beauty products.
  • Assist in the preparation of standard costing labor and overhead rates.
  • Monitoring cost variances and identifying areas for cost-saving opportunities.
  • Implementing cost control measures to optimize manufacturing processes.
• Inventory Management:
  • Overseeing inventory valuation, including raw materials, work in progress and finished goods.
  • Conducting regular inventory audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
• Financial Reporting:
  • Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports related to manufacturing costs.
  • Providing management with insights and recommendations based on cost analysis.
  • Perform month end close duties and prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Assisting in the development of manufacturing budgets and forecasts.
  • Tracking actual performance against budgeted costs and explaining variances.
• Process Improvement:
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing efficiencies and reduce costs.
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and cost reductions projects.
• Compliance and Audit:
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Supporting audits related to manufacturing operations.

LIST OF KEY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
• 5-8 year of experience in cost accounting or a similar accounting role.
• Proven experience (5-8 years preferred) as a cost accountant in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the beauty or consumer goods industry.
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle) or other ERP systems is preferred.
