The Role:
You will manage the Financial Accounting team and have oversight of the AP function. You will lead the preparation of all AMCNI UK local statutory accounts, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of accounts in accordance with UK GAAP (FRS 102) with support from the financial accounting team. Ensure strong internal control environment identifying weaknesses in current controls and recommending and assisting implementation of new and improved controls. You will have ownership of the actual, budget and forecast process for various lines of the P&L & BS, with a particular focus on Programming Assets & Liabilities. Regular cash flow forecasting, monthly bank reconciliations and weekly bank reporting for AMCNI UK entities/Group.
This is a highly demanding role requiring adherence to tight deadlines, high standards and attention to detail, as well as planning, process management and influencing skills.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of all AMCNI local statutory accounts (14 UK based entities under FRS 102) and the preparation/review of 2 international statutory accounts, working with the Management Accounting team to ensure the accuracy of financial statements and ensure deadlines are met.
- Act as key point of contact for external & internal auditors.
- Ownership of the cash flow reporting process to AMC Corporate, being a key metric for the AMC Networks group. Monthly reporting of actual & forecast cashflows and updates of forecasting models for both consolidated group reporting as well as local entity level, to ensure AMCNI UK entities/Group have sufficient funds to pay expenses as they fall due.
- Manage production and review of monthly and quarterly reporting to AMC Corporate on the divisional P&L and Balance Sheet (selected Direct Cost / Overhead line items). Commentary on key variances and KPIs, interaction with operational Department heads as required.
- Manage a small team, providing guidance, leadership and coaching to ensure individual as well as company developments needs are met
- Oversight of the Accounts Payable team, ensuring the processes and team are managed effectively. Liaison with AMCNI Central & RLJ UK teams as required, as well as monitoring and assistance on KPMG / GT Audit process.
- Compliance, internal testing of all current SOX controls as required by Internal Audit
- Support development of current internal processes and controls to improve efficiencies and ensure compliance with corporate governance
Key Competencies Required:
- Qualified accountant
- Confident communicator with strong inter-personal skills, effective in dealing with people at all levels.
- Experience of statutory reporting and audit experience
- Level headed and able to plan and communicate a process effectively, managing the process to its conclusion.
- Proactive and organised, ensuring deadlines are met. Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
- Adaptable to a changing environment, able to deal with moving priorities and managing workload to ensure deadlines are met
- Strong Excel and data skills, competence in PowerPoint & Word
- Oracle experience preferable
- Highly numerate with attention to detail
