Job Description
Lead continuous improvement activities on various types of equipment in the form of long and short-term corrective actions and countermeasures. Source hardware and program software allowing industrial equipment to perform optimally. Support manufacturing with troubleshooting equipment and processing issues.
- Troubleshoot and improve pneumatic & hydraulic assembly & test processes
- Learn and become expert level in Vision Systems and Industrial Lighting
- Supervise the controls and electrical schematics of new equipment purchases
- Provide/Program Software/Versions to Engineers/Electricians as needed
- Design, implement, and maintain the electronic program infrastructure (PLC, HMI, Vision, Motion Devices)
- Adapt existing manufacturing processes for new product introduction and design revision
- Provide day-to-day support for various maintenance related activities such as:
- Bar code readers, servos, drives etc.
- Production and test equipment
- Industrial test and electrical components (pumps, valves, regulators, flow controls, transducers, relays, etc.)
- Review processes on an on-going basis for safety, quality, and production efficiency
- Translate product and process requirements into automation system requirements and verifying these requirements are met
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field with Specialization in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science or information technology
- 3 years industrial experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Excellent troubleshooting skill and electrical safety knowledge
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs – CompactLogix, ControlLogix, SLC 500, PLC 5 and MicroLogix
- Knowledge of the Ethernet communication/hardware, RFID systems and process data collection
- Prepare control systems designs utilizing AutoCAD or SolidWorks to prepare drawings which include power distribution, PLC, main and station panel layouts, console layouts, pneumatics, hydraulics, and instrumentation
- Program HMI’s, Linear Actuators, Servo Drives, Bar Code Readers
