Our recipes are developed by leading animal nutritionists, and are made with only real, human-grade ingredients... and nothing artificial! Who You Are
Spot & Tango is looking for a Controller to join our NY HQ team! In this role, you will report directly to the VP of Finance. The Controller will manage and oversee all financial aspects of the company. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting, and implementation of strong internal controls. This role is pivotal in maintaining and ensuring the company’s financial stability and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP accounting standards
- Present financial reports to executive management and key business stakeholders
- Monitor internal controls, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process
- Manage tax filings, ensuring compliance with local, state and federal tax regulations
- Provide financial insights to support strategic business decisions, identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving profitability
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in accounting with at least 4-5 years in managerial or a leadership role
- CPA required
- Proficiency with Netsuite required
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP)
- Experience with ADP and Stampli a plus
- Analytical mindset and ability to interpret financial data
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills to interact with executive management and external auditors
- High attention to detail
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Dog lovers a plus!
This is a hybrid position. You must be able to commute into our office in Midtown Manhattan Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Hybrid Workspace
Employees engage in a combination of remote and on-site work.
Our hybrid policy requires employees to work in-person at our New York office Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Employees are able to work from home on Tuesday and Friday.
