We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team! Rocket Partners and our affiliated companies are growing rapidly, and we are ready to take the next steps in our enterprise trajectory. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining our financial systems and operations as we continue to grow. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, and process development, particularly in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The Controller will report directly to the Director of Operations and work closely with the executive team to drive financial strategy, create scalable financial processes, and ensure compliance with all financial regulations. 


Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in the financial close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Manage the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis for management
  • Coordinate and support external audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance activities
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax requirements
  • Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations to senior management
  • Assist with process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency in accounting functions
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial guidance and support for decision-making

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably with 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and financial regulations
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Experience in financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and month-end close process
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to problem-solve effectively
  • CPA or CMA designation is a plus
