Job Description
As a Control Manager within the Currencies and Emerging Markets business, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating controls to manage non-financial risks. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective risk management and compliance with regulatory requirements. As well assists in top-down risk analysis, real-time control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis, and remediation.
Role Responsibilities:
- In partnership with stakeholders, evaluate and perform an end-to-end analysis of the business' risk and control environment to identify significant gaps and weaknesses and determine root cause of control failures
- Ensure that controls are properly designed, operating effectively, and essential to a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols
- Perform ongoing analysis of business related data and being able to work with ad-hoc reports to support business-related programs and strategies
- Enable strategic initiatives by providing expert risk and control design guidance and navigational assistance, ensuring seamless collaboration across functional groups involved with Front Office Business
- Assist with development of Risk & Control Self-Assessment mapping and documentations through participation in end-to-end process walkthroughs and deep dives with assigned business units
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- 3-7 years of experience in financial services industry with background in controls, audit, quality assurance, operational risk management, or compliance preferred; or equivalent subject matter expertise in a relevant business related function/operation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) mandatory
- Excellent communication/presentation skills - verbal, written and technical (e.g., PowerPoint). Ability to present concise, direct and timely communications to executives, management and key partners
- Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Problem-Solving Skills and/or capacity to work sometimes under pressure.
- Organizational Skills are a must as it a fast-paced environment, someone highly detailed-oriented.
- Ability to work independently with strong self-motivation and discipline
