The key focus of the Control Automations Associate is to develop analytical intelligence for operational risk management and develop solutions to automate Control processes and leading Lob level stakeholder engagements and management of Control Automation projects
As a Control Analytics & Automations Associate within our team, you will be responsible for developing analytical intelligence for operational risk management and automating Control processes. You will collaborate with stakeholders, analyze and model risks, review and assess automation, plan and deliver projects, and support and improve processes. This role provides an opportunity to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness, identify and mitigate potential risks, and contribute to process improvement and control initiatives
Job responsibilities:

  • Understand and Develop Solutions: Gain a comprehensive understanding of the control landscape to develop sustainable automated control solutions that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Analyze and Model Risks: Develop a deep understanding of the operations control data landscape and create robust risk management models to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Establish strong working relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment, collaboration, and support for project objectives and initiatives.
  • Review and Assess Automation: Perform thorough control process reviews and assess the feasibility of automation to identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
  • Plan and Deliver Projects: Work closely with managers and project managers to develop detailed project plans, ensuring the successful development and delivery of automation solutions as planned.
  • Monitor and Report Progress: Monitor project progress, set deadlines, and resolve issues as they arise, escalating to management when necessary. Create EMR decks and ensure the availability of all project-related data for timely management reviews.
  • Support and Improve Processes: Assist the business in completing solution documentation and registry in accordance with firmwide policies. Liaise with business analysts and developers to close action items, track approvals, and drive change management for ongoing maintenance of delivered automation projects. Contribute to process improvement and control initiatives, providing weekly status updates to stakeholders.


Required qualifications, skills and capabilities:

  • Demonstrate the ability to develop codes and process data using Python and R Studio, with expertise in creating predictive models using decision trees, regression, and neural network techniques. Possess recognized certifications and extensive hands-on experience (2+ years with certifications or 6+ years without) in developing solutions using Alteryx and UiPath.
  • Hold a B.Tech/BCom/BBA with 8+ years or an M.Tech/Graduate/Post-Graduate degree with minimum 6 years of experience in data analytics and automation development. Possess a recognized project management qualification (e.g., Prince II, PMI) or demonstrate a structured approach and use of appropriate tools.
  • Have familiarity with a global bank's process and operational risk management environment, including operations management and external reporting. Possess strong business knowledge in investment banking, retail, and commercial business, along with consulting and stakeholder management skills to facilitate compromises and resolve conflicting requirements.
  • Exhibit good project/program management experience in an operations environment, with responsibility for people and process elements. Ideally, have experience as a business project manager who understands human change elements in project delivery. Operate effectively in dynamic environments with tight deadlines, prioritize work, and demonstrate flexibility to work global hours.
