Job Title: Contract Manager
Location: Belgrade, Serbia
Position Summary
The Contract Manager works as a member of the NCR Atleos Law Department, with a collegial and professional team of contract managers and attorneys, and is responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing contracts that support NCR Atleos’ business objectives. The Contract Manager develops negotiation strategies; conducts negotiations with customers, vendors, and channel partners; evaluates risk exposure; and makes recommendations to business clients within NCR Atleos, including senior management. The Contract Manager works with internal organizations such as Pricing, Sales, Procurement, and the CFO and Controller’s Offices to limit margin erosion and ensure compliance with internal policies such as order and revenue recognition. Candidates must be able to work under the pressure of deadlines and demands of a variety of business clients and contract counterparties.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Meet with internal clients to fully understand the business objectives and assess the risks arising out of a proposed transaction. Actively lead the NCR Atleos team in negotiating with the other party’s senior management, attorneys, and contract professionals. Serve as the primary point of contact during negotiations. Manage the design, implementation and maintenance of the NCR Atleos Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) software platform and serve as primary point of contact between the Law Department and the CLM team.
Review, edit, and draft responses to proposed terms and conditions; develop or facilitate development of contract templates and other reference tools.
Advise NCR Atleos business people and senior management and make recommendations about contractual risks which create legal and business exposure to NCR Atleos. Identify risks; facilitate internal review of issues and obtain management or legal resolution. Exercise sound judgment in determining when issues require the involvement of other parts of the business or the Law Department. Work closely with bid support personnel, pricing, and other internal organizations to minimize margin erosion and mitigate risk. Assist leadership teams and peers across pursuits, pre-sales activities, and delivery of engagements.
Following execution of a contract, provide front-line contractual support for interpretation, including working with NCR Atleos internal teams, senior management, and other members of the Law Department on potential disputes and accounting issues.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of NCR Atleos procedures, processes and policies; know and have experience with basic commercial contractual laws and practices within the information technology, banking and merchant payments industries; possess working knowledge of NCR Atleos’ Solutions (products and services) and capabilities, financial analysis (P&L), tax laws, and general business laws.
Develop and provide education to internal organizations (e.g. Sales, Procurement, Customer Services, Professional Services, and Law Department associates) regarding contracting best practices and other relevant topics.
Basic Requirements
- College degree
- 3+ years commercial contracting experience
- Excellent communication skills with ability to negotiate internally and externally at high levels; strong writing skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work under short deadlines with minimal advance notice and minimal supervision; self-sufficient and independent
- Customer-facing and must present a positive and professional image; excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to identify legal issues and escalate them as appropriate to the relevant attorney
- Understanding of basic CLM solution features, functionality and benefits
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Requires conceptual and innovative thinking (i.e. identifying solutions); ability to articulate complex ideas both legal and technical in nature, internally and externally
- Must have or acquire an in-depth knowledge of NCR Atleos policies, organizational relationships and procedures, and acquire a working knowledge of NCR Atleos’ payments and network solutions
Preferred Requirements
- Master of Business Administration or similar advanced degree
- 5+ years commercial contracting experience
- In-depth knowledge of payments processing contracts
- Material experience in the payments, financial technology or banking industries
- State/local government contracting experience a plus
- Lead and conduct negotiations with minimal supervision; possess excellent conflict resolution skills
- Ability to supervise and coordinate efforts of one or more personnel from different areas both internally and externally
