    SUMMARY

    Reporting to the VP-Operations with matrix relationship to the segment, this leadership role will enable deployment of the Oshkosh Operating System within one or  more of our business segments. This role will implement best practices and processes within operations and support functions. Through direct interactions with segment leadership, this position will support the cultural transformation that will enable team members to focus their talents on key improvement initiatives aimed at aligning business practices with the Oshkosh Operating System.

    YOUR IMPACT

    This role will support a successful continuous improvement program within the segment that promotes a learning and teaching environment aimed at achieving aggressive business results and overall cultural transformation.

    • Serve as a member of the extended leadership team by contributing to the development and execution of the overall business strategy using Hoshin Kanri.
    • Partner with segment leaders to identify, prioritize, implement and sustain key improvement opportunities.
    • Introduce standardized Lean techniques and concepts including: value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Visual Controls, Pull/Kanban systems, standardized work, line balancing, etc., to support the deployment of the Oshkosh Operating System.
    • Champion value stream mapping activities where applicable to identify key improvement opportunities within businesses.
    • Learn, develop, and train teams on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the core business objectives and how to effectively use them to monitor business goals.
    • Enable the Plan, Do, Check, Act culture to create and execute countermeasures to barriers and issues preventing the achievement of business objectives.
    • Build capability within site leadership and work teams through training, mentoring and challenging current practices.
    • Support and enable an environment for sharing of best practices.
    • Using Oshkosh Operating Model – create deep rooted Problem Solving Culture across the entire organization using proven techniques like JDI, PDCA, A3.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • 8 years of business/operations management or manufacturing experience with management responsibilities.
    • Bachelor’s degree in science- or engineering-related field

    STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

    • Certified Lean Expert/TPS based.
    • Lean training along with hands-on experience with deploying “TPS” based lean methods in operations is a critical requirement.
    • Technical mastery of continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
    • Results-oriented, strong analytical skills, and demonstrated process improvement success in managing large teams in a continuous improvement culture.
    • Proven change agent and ability to lead teams through: Making case for change; stakeholder management; change communications; removing barriers; setting milestones and acknowledging progress; and reinforcing change through organizational systems.
    • Willingness to work on the shop floor and lead by example
    • Ability to influence decision making with or without authority; facilitate groups with diverse perspectives; and bring teams to agreement.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills that build productive relationships and influences others, both within the business and across organizations.
    • Ability to interact with all levels of the business (senior leaders to working teams); exceptionally good listening skills; able to present complex or new ideas with clarity and simplicity.
    • Excellent project management and prioritization skills. Solid business acumen.
    • High ethical standards and the ability to set that tone for the entire organization.
    • Creative and innovative thinking to challenge current practices and ways of looking at processes across the organization

    Pay Range:

    $102,800.00 - $176,800.00

    The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
