Our Journey

ShopBack started as a spark of inspiration one night in 2014 when Henry and Joel were brainstorming ideas in Henry’s car. That lightbulb moment — earning Cashback while shopping online — was just the beginning. Fueled by the countless possibilities, the team locked themselves in a hotel room for 24 hours to code the very first prototype. Their mission? To revolutionize shopping by helping advertisers market more cost-effectively, while making every purchase more rewarding for shoppers.

Today, ShopBack is the leading shopping, rewards, and payments platform in Asia-Pacific, empowering 45 million shoppers across 12 markets. With 20,000+ partners and over half a million transactions daily, we’re redefining the way the world shops. As we expand globally, we’re looking for adventurous, driven individuals to help us build The World’s Most Rewarding Way to Shop.

ShopBack is seeking a Content Strategy Manager to lead a group of UX writing and localisation folks in Product Design. You'll set and enforce standards in content design and operations to grow our UX writing and localisation capabilities, enabling team members to craft simple, intuitive products that are a delight to use. You'll manage team members' growth, get involved in strategic product conversations and collaborate on design solutions - in equal measure.

  • Develop scalable content and design processes and workflows to improve operational efficiency and efficacy.
  • Grow the team's capabilities by guiding team members to develop skills and knowledge in product and design thinking, content craft and judgment, and stakeholder management
  • Advance content strategy vision and goals within the organisation and advocate for high-quality content design and best practices across functions, enhancing the organisation’s understanding of good vs great content.
  • Guide direction on localisation operational strategy and quality
  • Work with leadership to identify and prioritise opportunity and problem areas to drive impactful solutions.

  • Design and Strategy
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, designers, and stakeholders to understand business objectives, needs, and constraints, while producing creative and thoughtful solutions.

  • UX Writing Craft and Execution
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, balancing scope and timeline, and present solutions to key stakeholders, and support team members to achieve the same.
  • Review UX writers' work and guide them to deliver clear, simple, useful, and engaging content for better user experience. This includes considerations around information structure, meaningful copy, unambiguous terminology, concise language, brand voice and tone, device compatibility, and localisation.
  • Exercise judgment to ensure writing and messaging quality across interface content, product education materials, product names, terminology, and other content across ShopBack products.
  • Collaborate with or lead UX, research, product, engineering, brand, and commercial teams to ensure unified customer journeys that meet business objectives.
  • Seek and integrate feedback from cross-functional stakeholders and teammates to drive alignment and optimise speed and impact.

Essentials to Succeed

  • A strong work ethic, an open mind, attention to detail and consistency, and a very sharp eye for typos.
  • 8+ years of professional experience writing and designing content for web and mobile products, including at least 2 years managing other writers.
  • Can demonstrate success in growing a team of UX writers and operationalising UX writing into design and product development processes, including localisation.
  • Native-level spoken and written English competence, and able to articulate nuances in the language, from word choice to sentence structure and rhythm.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Can demonstrate good judgment in prioritisation and able to effectively balance high standards against tight timelines.
  • Ability to think logically, and to imagine copy and content as part of a system, on both the front and back ends.
  • Extensive case studies of work across multiple platforms – please be sure to include a link to this in your CV.

  • Have experience with writing and designing for global e-commerce products.
