Job Title: Accessibility Developer
Description: We are looking for an experienced Accessibility Developer to join our team and help us create digital products that are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. As an Accessibility Developer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our websites, applications, and digital content comply with accessibility standards such as WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) and ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act). You will work closely with designers, developers, and content creators to identify and address accessibility issues, and you will play a key role in promoting a culture of inclusivity within our organization.
Responsibilities:

Conduct accessibility audits of websites, applications, and digital content.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in web development with a focus on accessibility.

Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ARIA standards.

Experience with assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, and voice recognition software.

Familiarity with WCAG, ADA, and other accessibility standards.

Experience with automated accessibility testing tools.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, mathematics or related field is strongly preferred.
Experience: Six years of experience in programming and systems analysis. Three years of experience in project management is preferred.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Hands-on technical leadership experience leading project teams and setting technical direction. Proficiency in one programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle sophisticated business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resources Business Partner.
