WHAT YOU WILL DO:

We are seeking a capable Fullstack Software Engineer to join a newly-formed, fast-moving team focused on IT Sustainability and the associated large volumes of data to trace supply chain. In this position, you will work on both front-end and back-end solutions, tackling projects involving databases, backend systems, and user-facing websites. Operating in a fast-paced Agile environment, you will be tasked with designing, building, and improving software solutions. If you're passionate about coding across the full stack, enjoy working in Agile teams, and are excited to contribute to high-visibility projects, this role could be a great fit for you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Development Across the Stack: Apply your knowledge of the latest technologies to help design and develop innovative software solutions.
  • Support Architecture Design: Collaborate with Architects to shape the architecture for various products and applications, ensuring the design supports availability, security, and flexibility.
  • Build and Optimize Solutions: Execute development, performance tuning, and automation efforts that support the implementation and optimization of software solutions.
  • Strengthen Database and Application Skills: Continue building expertise in both relational and non-relational databases, distributed architectures, user interfaces, security, and business value delivery.
  • Best Practices Adoption: Implement engineering best practices to deliver scalable, efficient, and high-quality code.
  • Contribute to Development Strategy: Offer strategies and guidance on development, along with time and effort estimates, for projects and applications.
  • Engage in Agile Workflows: Participate actively in Agile activities such as sprint planning, retrospectives, daily stand-ups, demos, and backlog refinement sessions.
  • Ensure Quality with Unit Testing: Develop and run unit tests to verify that code changes meet user story requirements.
  • Use Test-Driven Development: Employ test-driven development (TDD) to identify bugs and improve code quality during the development lifecycle.
  • Improve Code Quality: Pinpoint areas in the codebase that can be enhanced and recommend solutions to improve overall code quality.
  • Collaborate on Development: Work alongside team members to move user stories from development to testing, ensuring clarity and smooth transitions.
  • Task and Progress Management: Provide estimates, organize tasks, and report on progress to ensure timely project completion.
  • Collaborative Efforts: Team up with Solution Architects and fellow Software Engineers to define specifications and produce documentation for every phase of the development process, from conception through implementation.
  • Conduct Peer Code Reviews: Lead peer reviews to maintain coding standards and improve the work of your peers.
  • Follow Development Standards: Adhere to established team and departmental standards to maintain code consistency.
  • Mentorship and Growth: Guide and support junior team members to help them improve their skills and grow within the team.
  • Commit to Continuous Learning: Participate in team activities that focus on enhancing knowledge, skills, and overall job quality.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Your values:
    • Integrity: You believe in doing the right thing, even when it's uncomfortable, seemingly inefficient, or costly.
    • Purposefulness: You have a desire to serve others with your skillset and an openness to continuous learning and growth.
    • Ownership: You stick to your commitments, follow up with action, and seek clarity in communication & expectations.

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in Full Stack Development.
  • 3+ years of experience or equivalent skills in Web and UI development.
  • Strong desire for experience on supply chain product or projects handling large volumes of data.

  • Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts and experience with document databases.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to third-party applications.
  • Proven ability to execute iteration plans and deliver projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Customer-focused mindset, dedicated to business partnerships while leveraging out-of-the-box solutions with minimal customization.
  • Responsible, organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a knack for analyzing potential issues.
  • Capable of mentoring and teaching other team members effectively.
  • Available for off-hours work as needed, including weekends, holidays, and on-call duties on a rotational basis.

WE WOULD BE THRILLED IF YOU HAVE:
