Key Responsibilities:
- Program Planning and Execution: Develop and implement plans to monitor execution, align with strategic goals, and prioritize projects to maximize resource efficiency. Facilitate multi-year roadmap discussions with program leaders.
- Portfolio Management: Establish a portfolio management process for project visibility and funding alignment, overseeing interdependencies for timely delivery and effective roadmap development.
- Strategy Implementation and Communication: Translate strategic initiatives into actionable plans, create materials to communicate key information to leadership, and ensure alignment with business objectives.

- Vendor and Resource Management: Evaluate vendor deliverables, liaise between project teams and external partners, and manage resource commitments across the organization, recommending prioritization and reallocation.
- Team Accountability and Standards Development: Foster accountability for project communications and reporting, mentor team members, and implement consistent program/project management methodologies across business units.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
- Strong knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.
- Proven ability to manage large, complex programs and integrate multiple projects.
- Effective interpersonal skills for engaging with senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Capacity to influence change and drive initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in program management.
- Financial services experience required, with insurance experience preferred.
- Project Management Certification strongly preferred; industry designations such as CPCU are a plus.

Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in business, mathematics or related field.
License/Certification/Designation: Project Management Certification preferred.
Experience: Six years of work experience in project management. Business process mapping experience preferred.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Strong knowledge of project management concepts and techniques. Working knowledge of business terminology, systems and data processing policies, practices and procedures. Knowledge of business-related systems concepts and requirements preferred. Strong relationship building skills. Outstanding project management skills. Strong negotiation and problem solving skills. Proven decision making skills for problem identification and selection of alternatives. Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to prepare technical reports and formal presentations.

Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. The expected starting salary range for Consultant, Business Project Management : $86,000.00 - $128,000.00
