Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oral and written communications to executive-level reports and project teams.
- Proficiency in technical writing and reporting.
- Observe overall site compliance for proper safety practices and procedures and follow up with the appropriate reporting in accordance with proper protocol and procedure.
- Ability to work independently to meet deadlines and execute various activities while supporting team initiatives for ongoing project success.
- Ability to effectively lead and contribute to important project meetings and discussions.
- Perform field audits of construction crew performance to ensure compliance with project documents. Audit on-going construction activities to verify progress and quality compliance.
- Document deficiencies and non-conformances and communicate issues to the project team and owner/client. The ability to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders is key.
- Effectively document the project through daily reports, photographs, and other reporting tools.
- Coordinate various project activities, as required, to work within a team effectively.
- Operate on the client’s behalf to resolve change orders and other project negotiations.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement, Lesson Learned opportunities, and/or courses of correction for project support.
- Develop a working knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and design and standard criteria for projects as necessary to successfully execute.
- Perform data collection utilizing approved collection devices such as laptops, tablets, smartphones, mobile devices, GPS, range finder, testing equipment, and other equipment as necessary.
- Ability to manage a large portfolio of projects with demonstrated success.
- Up to 50% travel required. The ability to lodge within 30 miles of the project site for periods of time is desired. Per diem to be provided.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in engineering or construction management with 5 years or more of engineering experience is required.
- B.S. degree and engineering requirement may be substituted with 10+ years of electric or renewable utility construction experience.
- Experience reading construction drawings and specifications preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, computer/laptop usage, mobile devices, and other technology and software required to complete job requirements.
- Strong leadership, management, analytical, communication, emotional intelligence, and human relations skills preferred.
- Problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Overnight travel and lodging will likely be required multiple days per week and weekend. Subject to call-out and overtime as needed for project work.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle to visit construction sites.
