This position will be on the Data Strategy and Governance team within Enterprise Connectivity inside the CAT Digital organization. The Connectivity organization has enterprise accountability for telematics and telecommunications product line strategy, rationalization, quality, and cost. This position will support client data strategy implementation and data quality efforts.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the enterprise data strategy and data governance as a subject matter expert for the Telematics domain data
  • Guide business partners and technical partners to understand and execute the data strategy
  • Collaborate with component teams, product groups and stakeholders to define data collection requirements
  • Support and guide asset config creation
  • Support and guide clients in data validation efforts
  • Lead and support data quality investigations both onboard and offboard
  • Support design of data collection system enablers


Basic Qualifications:

  • Accredited bachelor's degree in engineering, data science, or related domain.
  • 5+ plus years of job-related work experience with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Knowledge and experience with connectivity/telematics data collection
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration
  • Ability to accurately review large volumes of data
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar machine and engine software
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar data pipelines and platform architectures
  • Experience with Caterpillar machine and engine data links


Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Experience with Caterpillar platform data flows
  • Experience with Caterpillar machine and engine software
  • Programming and scripting experience
  • Self-motivation, technical curiosity and eagerness to learn
  • Experience managing projects and feature delivery with Azure DevOps
  • Requirements gathering and documentation experience with customers
