A Snapshot 

The customer is the life blood of our business and this role is about learning and understanding the customer and market requirements, and ensuring our business is aligned with these requirements. As part of the Technology team, the Connectivity Manager reports to the Director of Connectivity and acts as the key interface between the carriers, customers, and the team. With responsibility for all aspects of the customers’ connectivity requirements, the Connectivity Manager will drive the relationships between the customers, carriers, and the team. 

Your Day to Day 

Implement the connectivity strategy for the Japanese market for AirTrunk  

  • Implement the AirTrunk connectivity solution for AirTrunk’s sites in Japan; namely, working with our design team on the campus telco site master planning, fibre Points of Entry and fibre paths into our JPN sites  
  • Implement the strategy (including business case) for subsea Cable Landing Station solution as well as fibre offer to AirTrunk customers (including process, timelines and costing for telco licences in key-markets) 
  • Implement and maintain AirTrunk fibre route data base KMZ on Google Earth 
  • Build and maintain strong customer and industry technical relationships with telecommunication providers and our respective customer’s connectivity teams in Japan 
  • Study and understand customers current and future requirements and help translate this into a roadmap for the business. This includes developing intelligence in regional terrestrial fibre and subsea connectivity. 
  • Coordinate and work with each respective JPN site ops team, internal stakeholders (legal, finance, others) to onboard JPN carriers into our JPN sites 
  • Support the Customer Success and Solutions team for the RFP and customer requirements phase – including managing and providing guidance on the connectivity aspects of the RFP  
  • Support the Japan Site Selection team for fibre and connectivity solutions during the site selection process for expansion of AirTrunk facilities across Japan 
  • Support the team during engagement with customers on their connectivity requirements 
  • Able to work with teams located across APAC via remote tools such as MSFT Teams, Office 365 

 Minimum Requirements 

  • 10+ years of experience and relationship with the carriers, service providers, and telcos within the APAC region, mainly in Japan  
  • Bachelor’s Degree in telecoms engineering or equivalent experiencepreferred 
  • Strong communication skills in English and Japanese are a must – written, presentation, verbal at all levels 
  • Customer centric approach – listen, understand, manage expectations and ensure delivery to them   
  • Ability to prepare reports suitable for external distribution 
  • Ability to deliver effective presentations on data center connectivity  
  • Ability to understand the need to place the team’s, company’s or customer’s goal over personal individual goals. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package – Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Project & Visio 
  • Proficiency in AutoCad is preferred 
  • Experience and relationship with the carriers, service providers, and telcos within Japan
