The Role:
Cognism is seeking a Compliance Manager to lead our compliance efforts from our London office. This is a hybrid role, with an expectation to be present in the office 2-3 times per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing compliance operations, supporting the business in maintaining regulatory standards, and managing key compliance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing day-to-day compliance operations.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for compliance-related inquiries, addressing customer and stakeholder questions with confidence.
- Overseeing and responding to data subject access requests in collaboration with our Data and Compliance teams.
- Overseeing compliance with internal processes and procedures periodically and reporting to line manager on how to mitigate against potential risks
- Conducting thorough due diligence on key third-party vendors and partners, ensuring they meet compliance standards.
- Developing and refining compliance documentation, templates, and conducting in-depth research on regulatory topics.
- Managing the onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure all Cognism employees comply with security and compliance training requirements.
- Leading Cognism’s ISO 27001/27701 and SOC2 audits, maintaining accurate records, and evidence collection.
- Identifying opportunities to enhance compliance processes and implementing improvements.
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory requirements are met.
Requirements
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; relevant compliance certifications are a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in a compliance role, preferably with management or leadership responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant data privacy regulations.
- Knowledge of information security standards (ISO 27001/27701, SOC2, Cyber-essentials) [required].
- Experience working in a tech company/start-up, in a fast-paced environment [highly desired].
