As part of the organizational principles and responsibilities of PPS EU, and with the aim of better controlling compliance risks and ensuring honesty, integrity, respect for high ethical values in the conduct of business and compliance with both the spirit and the letter of the regulations in force with regard to the institution's activities, the Compliance team must provide the organization with assurance about the degree of control over its operations from a compliance point of view, offer advice on how to reduce compliance risks, improve the way the organization operates and help to create an honest approach to doing business.
The compliance primary focus is to protect the business by ensuring an excellent level of compliance across numerous regulatory domains. As an Electronic Money Institution licensed in Belgium and a Mastercard issuing member, some specific payment and financial regulations are particularly important to Edenred Pay Tech.
The Compliance - Data Correspondent reports to the Risk Operational Manager.
The role requires a good business understanding of the products and their subsequent impact on compliance. It is also important to have a keen interest in evolving industry and technical developments in the innovative competitive landscape driven by PSD2.
Role and Responsibilities
The role will be to give support to the Compliance team in the following tasks :

Verify compliance with rules relating to PPS EU’s activities Ensuring that PPS EU complies with the regulatory rules of integrity and conduct applicable to it. PSD2 is a compulsory knowledge.

Integrate the principles of compliance into the company's culture and establish guidelines for compliance with regulations.

Monitoring new legislation and regulations and their interpretation in the area of compliance. Keep informed of latest regulatory evolutions in the countries where PPS EU operate.

Ensuring that the rules defined by the operational departments comply with the legal and/or regulatory rules of integrity and conduct that apply to the institution.

Advising management, operational departments and business partners on the practical application of the laws, regulations, standards and codes that fall within its remit, including communicating developments in this area.

Advising on the development of compliance policies and its ongoing updating, as well as measures to control compliance risks.

Participating in deliberations on change request for products, services and market, focusing on the identification, documentation and assessment of the applicable compliance risks.

Evaluating PPS EU’s compliance procedures, controls and directives, identifying any shortcomings and proposing changes where necessary.

Develop quality improvement initiatives and initiate organizational changes to ensure compliance with internal rules and business expectations in terms of good governance.

Participating in the drawing up the compliance action plan describing in sufficient detail the nature and frequency of the assignments that the compliance function will carry out over a specified period. The plan is based on a methodical risk analysis, the principles of which are set out in writing and assessed at regular intervals.

Monitoring and reporting on Compliance MIS and KPI.

Monitor the compliance risk levels, develop, deploy and operate controls necessary for the effective management of risk mitigation measures.

Regularly maintain the company’s Compliance Risk Register, clearly identify each risk together with its rating.

Assist in producing and filing all regulatory compliance reports.

Embed a compliance culture in the company and its agents day to day activities.
Skills & Experience

Legal training / certificates

Demonstrable Compliance expertise and experience in a similar position

Demonstrate a strong knowledge of PSD2 & GDPR

Compliance Officer Certification. PPS EU would support the successful candidate in obtaining the Belgian certification if needed.

Knowledge of payment and/or financial industry and regulations are an advantage, mainly in Belgium.

Strong interpersonal skills, assertiveness.

Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information.

Ability to work at pace with accuracy when under pressure.

Languages: fluency in either French or Dutch, with a good (working) knowledge of English.

Excellent attention to detail.
