Position Summary:


The Community Mobilization Associate will support CORE's fire response activities across Los Angeles, assisting with community outreach, resource distribution, and coordination efforts. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals passionate about community service, disaster response, and making an immediate impact on those affected by wildfires.


The role will require flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments. The Associate will work closely with the Fire Response Team Leads and other CORE staff to ensure timely and effective mobilization of resources and support services.


This is a full-time temporary position with a 2-month duration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Community Engagement:
  • Support community mobilization efforts in fire-affected areas.
  • Assist with organizing and facilitating community meetings, outreach events, and resource distribution activities.
  • Act as a point of contact for community members, providing information on available resources and support.

Logistics & Operations:

  • Assist with the coordination and delivery of emergency kits and supplies.
  • Support the set-up and operation of response sites, including distribution centers and relief hubs.
  • Help maintain inventory records and track the distribution of resources.

Data Collection & Reporting:

  • Gather data from field activities to support program monitoring and evaluation.
  • Provide regular updates to team leads on community needs, response activities, and challenges.
  • Assist in preparing reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Support:

  • Collaborate with CORE's broader response team to ensure seamless operations.
  • Provide administrative support as needed, including scheduling, data entry, and communications.

Qualifications:

  • REQUIRED:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse communities.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-stress environments during emergency response operations.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must be able to lift and carry supplies (up to 30 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
  • PREFERRED:
  •  Previous experience in community outreach, disaster response, or volunteer coordination.
  • Knowledge of Los Angeles neighbourhoods and community networks.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
