JOB SCOPE & PURPOSE
The Communications/Email Developer is responsible for the development and testing of digital email creative, using appropriate technologies with focus on responsive coding and across-the-board rendering consistency. He/she codes the creative with emphasis on industry standard best practices and user experience while maintaining design aesthetics and overall look and feel. They not only have a detailed understanding of email development and responsive programming but are also experts in understanding and communicating the capabilities and limitations of HTML email development.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Codes email creative with emphasis on aesthetic accuracy, industry best practices and client requirements
- Fully understands and applies coding requirements to make all email communications responsive
- Stays current on evolving and advancing technologies as they relate to digital design and development
- Maintains a reciprocating relationship between design and code
- Codes creative to industry standards while utilizing appropriate technologies
- Integrates varying technologies within best practice guidelines when producing digital creative
- Defines logic and programs both simple and complex dynamic templates within the ESP
- Performs full spectrum testing within the ESP to verify proper rendering of the email and its content
- Provides insight on quality of digital executions on both an aesthetic and technical level
- Emphasizes attention to detail within Digital
- Maintains close working relationships within the team and other competencies
- Mentors and fosters growth in other web developers
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- 4+ years of experience in responsive email development
- Experience in SalesForce Marketing Cloud [ExactTarget], Watson [SilverPop] or comparable ESP
- Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field (or equivalent experience)
- Digital design experience a plus
KNOWLEDGE & ABILITY
- Proficient in HTML and CSS as it pertains to responsive email coding and best practices
- Knowledge of email best practices relating to code, design and deliverability
- Fully competent in Adobe CC with emphasis on Photoshop
***We are a hybrid company working 3 days a week in office and 2 days a week at home. Candidates must live in the Irving, TX area and willing to be in office on required days
