Job Description
Job Title: Communication & CSR Lead
Location: India
About the role:
This position serves as the primary Communication lead to manage Takeda India communication strategies for India business (including issue and crisis communication), the communications advisor for India Leadership Team; and to profile Takeda as a patient-centric bio-pharmaceutical company. This position also serves to manage and execute the Company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy and initiatives to maintain an excellent corporate reputation. He/she establishes, develops, and maintains the strategic link between businesses needs and communication activities in the country.
How you will contribute:
Lead India's integrated 360-degree Communications strategy and its execution while positioning Takeda as a leading innovative, value-based global biopharmaceutical company

  • Create communication strategy and associated message platform and plans for all internal and external audiences.
  • Ensure alignment of communications strategy with business strategy and priorities.
  • Amplify Takeda's branding initiatives to support business growth and ensure consistency in the positioning of the Company's corporate image building.


Develop and implement an India communications plan which is consistent with and reflects Takeda's strategic vision and objectives while maintaining an excellent reputation with internal and external stakeholders
External Communication

  • Drive and manage the PR relations strategy and plans and relationships with agencies for ongoing communications, campaigns, and upcoming product launches.
  • Collaborate closely with franchises, public affairs, medical, market access functions to drive the communications strategy and agenda
  • Manage PR and media relations program and ensure spokesperson readiness


Internal Communication

  • Design and drive the Internal Communications platform, communication materials and tools
  • Be an advisor for HR Communications activities such as organizational announcements, employee engagement surveys, change management and employee branding to ensure 'employee-centric' communications across a range of channels, ensuring clarity and consistency of messages while promoting understanding and adoption of PTRB.


Executive Communications Program

  • Provide strategic communication advice to the India leadership Team in collaboration with
  • I-SEA communications
  • Manage positioning and participation of Country GM for business initiatives, product launches, crisis communication and corporate sponsorships
  • Prepare monthly country GM message, townhalls and support other key Functional Heads when needed.
  • Advise country GM and India Leadership Team about external communication activity participation and create associated materials including speaking events, external board participation and media interviews


Lead and drive execution of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, programs, and practices to support sustainability and community engagement efforts

  • Lead company CSR activities, manage funds, create strong internal governance processes, collaborate closely with finance, company secretary and internal committees to seek approvals as per Takeda SOPs
  • Work closely with the agency on ensuring timely conclusion and delivery of CSR projects


Reputation and Risk Management to ensure Takeda Value

  • Lead and track metrics and measurement Reputation and Risk Management
  • Anticipate and identify issues/ crisis that may have an impact on Takeda reputation; take proactive steps to mitigate any risks


What you bring to Takeda:
Education and Experience Requirements
Essential

  • A university degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations (PR) or Journalism
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in communication/PR in a multi-national, matrixed environment, ideally with healthcare and pharma sector


Desirable

  • Experience in managing the implementation of communications strategies and policies
  • Versed in managing media relations
  • Strong experience in creation of communication plans (strategic and long-term plans) and content writing expertise relevant and aligned with business needs and Takeda tonality
  • Strong experience using multiple communications platforms, including digital, print and events (e.g., Newsletters, E-Bulletins, Intranet, Staff Survey, Conferences and Seminars etc.).
  • Corporate social responsibility experience - ideally should have created and implemented CSR program
  • Relationship management experience with a commitment to providing exceptional levels of contribution to both internal and external partners.
