General Summary:

The Senior Supply Planner, Commercial Supply Chain Planning will manage operational aspects of the finished goods packaging production planning for the International region.

This role will manage the International finished goods supply plans to ensure demand is met and inventory levels are maintained.  The Senior Supply Planner will work together with internal teams (upstream supply planning, tech ops, artwork, packaging engineering, quality, logistics) and external packaging contract manufacturers, to execute the supply plan.

The position is located in Paddington, London (this is a Hybrid role) and will report to the Senior Manager of Commercial Supply Chain Planning.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Owns day to day Planning activities for the supply of finished goods
  • Support internal stakeholders and contract manufacturing partners for specific projects/activities and/or to resolve any issue that might jeopardize supply
  • Supports the company’s development of supply and procurement strategies
  • Utilizes appropriate software and IT systems to effectively manage both routine operational activities and ad-hoc projects tasks
  • Supports other members of the team with execution of their planning activities and/or system use
  • Delivers reliably and responsibly on independent activities and acts as a Supply Chain contact internally and with external manufacturing/logistics suppliers
  • Drives process and tools improvements   

Operational Responsibilities

  • Develop an optimal, achievable supply plan and work with CMOs to deliver against the plan
  • Own the FG orderbook and ensure it is accurately reflected across systems
  • Perform demand/supply scenario analyses and provide supply options and recommendations
  • Contribute with inputs to the Sales & Operations Planning process
  • Manage master data within Kinaxis RapidResponse and Oracle ERP system
  • Actively maintain accurate supply planning parameters in the planning system
  • Timely execute purchase orders, material transactions, invoice payments
  • Complete change controls tasks and support quality events investigations
  • Perform inventory reconciliation and excess/obsolescence analysis
  • Liaise with Regulatory and Quality to ensure compliant supply
  • Liaise with 3PL and CMOs to customize products in line with regulations
  • Interact with Logistics to manage and ensure an optimal delivery flow
  • Produce reports on inventory levels & safety stock
  • Support product launches coordination, life cycle management, and materials phase in/out
  • Ensure timely communication of product availability to the business
  • Monitor and report performance of CMO material scheduling activities (e.g. adherence to planning parameters, adherence to contractual terms)
  • Participate in performance improvement projects internally or with sites
  • Support the operational supplier relationship management process, including monthly / quarterly reviews

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in supply planning/production scheduling
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely (written/oral)
  • Experience working with ERP and planning systems
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Team player that can demonstrate a can-do attitude in supporting the company wider goals
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical supply chain and overall drug development would be an advantage
  • Ability to bring creativity and energy to resolve supply and/or technical challenges
  • Understanding/exposure to continuous improvement processes/methodologies is beneficial
  • Displays effectiveness in managing customer expectations and influencing others
  • Ability to collaborate with other functional areas (such as Pharmaceutical Development, Technical Operations, Clinical Operations, Regulatory, Quality)
  • Experience managing 3rd party supply chain partners (CMOs, 3PL…) advantageous
  • Comfortable with evolving responsibilities and structure

Education and Experience:

  • Preferred but not mandatory STEM education
