Position Overview
Associate in the Commercial Real Estate (“CRE”) Origination group will be responsible for reviewing and underwriting real estate credit for a team that focuses on warehouse financing, principal lending and capital market executions. Associate will work with senior members of the CRE team in evaluating and closing lending opportunities starting from origination; moving through underwriting, legal documentation, and closing/onboarding; followed by on-going asset management.
Primary Responsibilities
- Diligence and underwrite CRE opportunities across all asset types through evaluation of underlying financial statements, rent rolls, third party reports, etc.
- Prepare credit memos and other documentation for presentation to internal committees
- Coordinate with internal and external legal on documentation of facility and loan onboardings
- Assist in on-going asset management, including monitoring of sponsor and asset performance, of the CRE portfolio
- Support CRE client coverage and sourcing
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 2-3 years of CRE origination, underwriting or capital markets experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of commercial real estate credit principles
- Ability to handle multiple priorities under time constraints
- Demonstrated success working in a collaborative team environment
Base Salary Range
$150,000 - $200,000
The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed here.
