Job Description
This role provides the opportunity to work on key strategic initiatives on our Digital & Platform Services (DPS) Strategic Execution team. The DPS Strategic Execution team is part of J.P. Morgan's larger Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB) Strategy Americas organization, which functions as an internal consulting group and works on a project basis to address topics at the top of senior management agendas. Projects include developing the overall strategy, governance, organizational structure, operating model, architecture, and processes for the DPS organization. Our focused group of professionals is composed of top performers from top strategy consulting firms, investment banks, and other internal JPMorgan Chase groups.
As a Senior Associate on CIB Strategy's DPS Strategic Execution team, you will support mission-critical projects, including but not limited to: putting together strategic roadmaps for the DPS organization, assessing operating models, including redesign or automation, and supporting the creation of CEO-level executive communications. Projects are typically team-based and include close collaboration with the Digital & Platform Services management team and their peers across the CIB.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Apply structured problem-solving and design thinking to address key strategic priorities
  • Gather, synthesize, analyze and present project data and findings (e.g., financial modeling, valuation)
  • Develop innovative solutions to transform business / operating models
  • Research and apply an understanding of innovation in financial services and emerging technologies (e.g., Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotic Process Automation) to help reimagine the future of DPS
  • Develop project-specific content / domain knowledge quickly and actively participate in team problem-solving sessions
  • Perform competitor/industry research leveraging both public and non-public sources
  • Own execution of clearly defined, well-scoped components within a work stream, which could span process improvement, organizational change, and / or functional strategy efforts
  • Develop strategic presentations for internal and external audiences
  • Support multiple project work streams
  • Establish excellent relationships with internal stakeholders and colleagues
  • Manage own deadlines / timeframes, proactively escalating issues as needed


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 5+ years of experience with a premier strategy consulting firm or an internal strategy consulting / corporate strategy team
  • Demonstrated experience with consulting toolkit / broad range of analytical tools and problem-solving approaches
  • Demonstrated experience with managing project work streams
  • Demonstrated project execution focus
  • Strong client management and executive-level communication skills
  • Track record of demonstrating a high level of personal initiative, setting and achieving challenging goals, and demonstrating entrepreneurial leadership
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Math, Engineering, or a related field


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Experience in financial services industry
  • Graduate degree in Economics, Finance, Math, Engineering, or a related field
