Job Description
OUR GRADUATE PROGRAM
This is a 1-year graduate program designed to equip you with foundational knowledge and professional skills in our Grains & Oilseeds platform, with rotation across various functions such as Domestic execution and logistics, Vessel execution, Research, Domestic Assets and Commercial development, among others.
The Graduate Program trainee will be exposed to the fundamental components of global agriculture and food value chains. Our program is designed to provide a strong basis for a commercial role within the physical commodity business, and to identify and develop talented individuals who have the desire to become active players in the company.
Through a combination of structured training, informal on-the-job learning, regular check-ins and inspiring coaches, participants experience different areas of our business. You will contribute to a variety of projects, building the skills and expertise you need for a diverse, challenging and exciting career at LDC.
Main Responsibilities :
1. Domestic execution – 2 months
- Follow up USD and UAH contracts execution and payments
- Abide by the company's risk control policy and execution procedure.
2. Domestic Logistics – 2 months
- Understand technical skills in Ukrzaliznytsya operations.
- Follow up grain delivery channel silo/warehouse > railcars/truck > sea/river terminals.
3. Vessel execution – 2 months
- Follow up sales contracts execution on different type of delivery (FOB/CIF) by different type of transport (handy size vessel, panamax size vessels, barges)
- Calculation of demurrage / dispatch / laycan time for vessels.
4. Research – 2 months
- Assist researcher and traders with the commercial research and trading activities
- Manage statistical data in commodities balance sheets
- Process and analyze information, develop relevant databases and synthesize research and report findings in a clear and informative structure
5. Domestic Assets – 2 months
- Understand the silo’s technical processes and grain quality analysis.
- Secure deals with new clients (FCA and EXW contracts)
6. Commercial team – 2 months
- Develop client relationships
- Secure deals with new clients (CPT contracts)
- Monitor daily trading environment and predict market movement
- Keep the commercial team informed of relevant information from the market
- Process with CRM
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree with specialization in Agronomy, Accounting & Finance, Economics and/or Business.
- Graduates or in the last year of the degree.
- Maximum of 2-years experience (a plus with a training or summer placement in Commercial environment).
- Languages : Native Ukrainian and fluency in English is Essential. Professional working proficiency in another language always appreciated.
- International mindset with a strong interest in career mobility.
- Strong leadership potential, with distinctive competitive spirit and resilience.
- Capacity to contribute to and learn from the team.
- Ability to connect multiple information sources and make sense of market signals; comfortable negotiating and taking decisions, critical and deductive thinker.

- Good analytical skills, ability to analyze supply, demand and trade flow fundamentals

- You are able to begin full time employment on July 1st, 2024
